A broom texture gives outdoor concrete a restrained, functional appearance. The final direction and consistency of the texture affect how a large area reads. Discuss the sample, edges and joints rather than relying on a generic finish name alone.
Stamped and decorative surfaces
Stamped concrete adds pattern and can include color and accent effects. Evaluate the scale alongside the house and garden. Ask how sealer, wet conditions and future repairs influence maintenance and appearance.
Exposed aggregate and other options
Exposing aggregate creates a different texture and visual character. Availability, aggregate selection and execution should be confirmed for the specific project. A finish that works well in one location may be less comfortable for another use, such as barefoot activity.
Choose with real conditions in mind
Bring up slope, shade, frequent moisture, snow removal and furniture. Ask for a sample or representative reference and written care instructions. No finish eliminates the need for a suitable base, joints, drainage and curing.
