Describe the result you want
Tell us whether the project is a new surface, more space, repair or replacement. Explain what is not working now and the intended future use. Approximate dimensions are helpful, but you do not need to diagnose the problem or produce a construction design.
Share site constraints
Mention narrow gates, slopes, stairs, overhead access and nearby landscaping. Identify known utilities, irrigation and any other work planned in the same area. Photos can help show the setting when they can be taken safely from ground level.
List your decisions and questions
Bring finish preferences, timing constraints and future plans for covers, equipment or parking. Ask what the assessment includes and whether any separate diagnostic or design charge applies. Do not assume all preliminary work is free.
Review the written next step
Before authorizing construction, confirm scope, exclusions, approvals, payment terms and the process for changes. Keep the contracting party and responsibility for each part of the work clear. An inquiry or estimate request is not a construction agreement.
