Separate finishing from readiness
Placement and finishing are only part of the work. Curing supports strength development and surface quality. Weather, the concrete mixture and the curing method influence the project-specific instructions.
Get the care plan before the pour
Ask what protection or curing method will be used and what you should do afterward. Do not apply water, coverings or chemicals unless they are part of those instructions. Keep pets, furniture and household traffic out of the work area as directed.
Ask separately about walking and vehicles
A surface that can be walked on is not automatically ready for a car or RV. Request explicit release instructions for the intended load. Avoid using a generic number of days from an unrelated project as permission to drive on new concrete.
Plan access around the curing period
Arrange alternative parking and a safe entrance route in advance. Weather can alter the schedule, so distinguish a planned pour date from guaranteed return to use. Report unexpected damage or concerns before adding loads to the surface.
